Bihar , WB , Assam, Jharkhand, HP – Applications Less than Quota
Haj Committee of India ( HCOI ) has made all the arrangement for Indian Haj pilgrims with support of Ministry of External Affairs, State / UT Haj Committees ( SHC ) and Consul General Of India Jeddah.
This year HCOI has received about 2,67,281 applications. However, the quota for India is 1,23,900. This quota is distributed among all the States and UT according to the proportion of Muslim population. However, few states West Bengal , Bihar , Assam,Tripura, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh received less applications than their quota . Their Haj quota would be distributed among other states.
West Bengal received 8470 applications , whereas its Haj quota according to its Muslim population is 17,735. Bihar received 4950 applications against 12630 Haj quota. Total application received by Assam is 3588 against 7848. Jharkhand record has been so far good , however , this year it received 2233 applications against 3448 Haj quota. Tripura received 110 Haj applications against 227 Haj quota. Himachal Pradesh Haj quota is 108 while it received total 72 applications. All the applicants from these states are selected directly without qurrah. Best wishes to all from our Hajinfo.in team.
It may be not good news for the these state Haj committees , however, its good news for those state Haj Committees , who have received more than their Haj quota . They will receive extra seats , thus the applicants from the waiting list would be selected more in numbers.
All the selected Haj pilgrims are advised to follow all the guidelines given by the HCOI . Make sure to have all the important contact numbers , coupons so that they have smooth pilgrimage.
